Speaker repair
No sound on calls, crackling, or audio that only works on speakerphone. Call with your make and model and we will give you a price — or walk in and we will look at it while you wait.
What we actually do
Phones have more than one speaker. The earpiece you hold to your head and the loudspeaker at the bottom are separate parts, and which one is dead tells us a lot before we open anything.
Plenty of 'dead' speakers are a mesh clogged with pocket debris, or a software route stuck on an old Bluetooth connection. We rule both out first.
Check it is not still paired to something. A car or a set of earbuds quietly holding the audio route is the single most common cause of a phone that has 'gone silent'.
Signs it is the speaker
- Nothing on calls unless you use speakerphone
- Crackling or distortion at any volume
- Sound cuts in and out
- Muffled, as if underwater
- One speaker works and the other does not
- Nothing at all from either
Worth fixing, or not?
Yes, and frequently it is a clean rather than a part. Worth having looked at before assuming the phone is finished.
What it costs
Prices vary from phone to phone, and by model. Posting one number here would get it wrong for most people reading it.
So just ask. One call with your make and model and you have your price.
Phones we work on
iPhone, Samsung, Motorola, Google Pixel, LG, TCL, Nokia and more. Not sure yours is on the list? Call and ask — we see plenty that aren't.
